I am a 40-something wife and mother of two live-at-home college kids (which I love!) and 1 furbaby.
Over the past few years I have made a more conscience effort to incorporate more healthy eating into our diet. I’ve gone 30-days with no added sugar/artificial sweeteners (you would not believe all the unnecessary sugar I found) and my daughter was a vegetarian for 2 years and now a vegan for the past year. I think a lot of people are afraid of the word “vegan” and don’t have any idea what to do with it. Though this will not be strictly a vegan blog, I would like to bring awareness to family and friends and perhaps help others realize that cooking and baking vegan isn’t hard nor does it have to taste bad. Some might taste bad, I’ve had more than a few failed experiments, but if you do it right you can have very tasty vegan food. I have been more pleasantly surprised than disappointed. Quoting my husband, the best vegan food is food that doesn’t try to imitate something else. I’m not a vegan, but if it tastes good, I’ll eat it. This vegan cookie cookbook by Isa Chandra Moskowitz is absolutely fabulous by the way! The chocolate chip cookie pie is not one of hers…but the other 3 are. She has tons of recipes online…just click here to check it out.
